Im guessing using bless to reflash the MacBook is the right solution. Ive tried that from an OS X I installed on an external USB drive with no success. I have a MacBook Pro 5.5 with OS X 10.6 This it what made it work for me. Blessing the.scap file while it was still in the contents of the MacBook EFI Firmware update.app did not work for me. I copied the.scap file (located in ContentsResources) to my home directory. After I used this command: sudo bless -mount -firmware MBP5500AC03BLOCKED.scap.
